‘People forget’ – Marcus Rashford has ‘very bad’ relationship with Matheus Cunha at Man United ahead of the season

Marcus Rashford is yet to be given a new Manchester United team number as he prepares to return to Old Trafford.
Rashford will return to United pre-season after a three-week break following the conclusion of the World Cup.

It was hoped he would join a new club this summer, but as it stands he will rejoin Michael Carrick’s squad.
Barcelona chose not to exercise their £26m buyout clause and signed Anthony Gordon for £70m.
Meanwhile, the £40m release clause for the other clubs, apart from Liverpool and Manchester City, has expired.
His £325,000-a-week salary appears to be stopping him from leaving permanently.
The worst thing is that the Red Devils have already given his shirt number.
Rashford has held the No.10 since the start of the 2018/19 season – but it now belongs to Matheus Cunha.
This player, 28, previously had number 19, which now belongs to Bryan Mbeumo, and No. 39, which belongs to Tyler Fletcher.
Speaking on talkSPORT’s YouTube program Inside Devils, football journalist Alex Crook said: “I think he will start pre-season at Manchester United. He might even start the season at Manchester United.
“But I still think that the chances of him being fully included in the first team are very small.
“He has no love for officials, he blames them as much as the former manager for his departure from Old Trafford.

“I’m not sure Michael Carrick is willing to bring him back into the dressing room.” United certainly have no desire to get his £325,000 salary on the books. So it’s a good situation for all concerned to go.
“But where is the question? Barcelona went for Anthony Gordon. Can they sign a loan deal at the end of the window? It’s possible, but United don’t really want to take out another one.
“Fenerbahce is mentioned to me, but I don’t think that Rashford is willing to move to the Turkish league.
“I keep coming back to Tottenham a little bit. Maybe that could be a deal they can do late in the window.
“He doesn’t have a team number – people forget that. Matheus Cunha has his shirt. It’s a bad situation for everyone involved.”
The verdict of Man United fans
United fans have always had a close relationship with Rashford, he was a local boy who burst onto the scene.

He has played more than 400 games for this club, won two FA Cups, two League Cups and the Europa League.
United fan Ryon Scott-Douglas told Inside Devils: “I have a relationship with Marcus Rashford. I want the best for him, but to answer your question about whether he will stay at Manchester United, I don’t think so. I actually think this is very dangerous.
“If he starts the season for Manchester United, that ship has sailed. That ship has sailed. I don’t think Manchester United needs him. I feel like he has separated from Manchester United mentally.
“So it won’t be a good thing. I’m talking about half of him and I shouldn’t, but in my opinion, it won’t be a good thing if he’s brought back into the team right now.
“I think he was already playing in Barcelona, his desire was to stay in Barcelona,
“I understand that Manchester United fans will want to see this story and we like to look forward to it. We like returning players. We like it a lot. But not this one.
“I feel passionate about the story of Marcus Rashford and Manchester United. We have amazing memories with him and we did amazing things for him and he did amazing things for us.
“But the next chapter does not and should not involve Manchester United.”
