Embarrassing Argentina is another classless act as Spain lift the World Cup and Rodri seeks the Golden Ball
Argentina have been called ‘classless’ after turning their backs on Spain’s World Cup trophy presentation.
The defending champions were beaten 1-0 by Spain after extra time in Sunday’s final.

Ferran Torres’ winning goal in extra time proved the difference between the two teams.
His strike came after Argentina were reduced to 10 men in stoppage time at the end of 90 minutes.
Enzo Fernandez was given a second yellow card for a reckless tackle on Pau Cubarsi to leave his side in extra time.
Argentina received another red card in the ugly scenes that followed the final whistle at MetLife Stadium.
Leandro Paredes was sent off after full-time for throwing punches while clashing with Spain’s players on the pitch as they celebrated.
Nahuel Molina also appeared to be struggling as the wars disrupted Spain’s competition.
It didn’t end there
After the players were sent off and La Roja were given the platform to have their time, Manchester City midfielder Rodri was named Player of the Tournament and presented with the Ballon d’Or.
Meanwhile, Spanish defender Pau Cubarsi collected the Young Player award and goalkeeper Unai Simon was awarded the Golden Glove after a national record-breaking defensive performance throughout the tournament.
The England legend, Stuart Pearce, was watching the Argentina players when Spain collected their trophies, and ended up raising the World Cup and American President Donald Trump.
“When Spain was about to raise their trophy, the Argentines, who took it to a man, all stood and turned their backs to raise the trophy,” said Pearce.

“That probably tells you a lot, doesn’t it?”
And talkSPORT anchor Adrian Durham responded: “Yeah, there’s no class, though. They were pretty shocked.
“They were an absolute disgrace here today. The fans, we think they were smart. But even when the trophy was lifted, and when Rodri went up to take the best player of the tournament, the fans were chanting Messi’s name and chanting Argentina.
“They will not accept that Argentina was beaten in the final of the World Cup.”
Argentina is a ‘shame’
Durham were frustrated by the Argentinian’s antics at full-time and throughout the tournament.
England, of course, received their fair share of Argentina’s treatment during their semi-final defeat on Wednesday.

Speaking on Game Day Live, he branded Lionel Scaloni’s side a ‘disgrace’ at the World Cup.
Durham exclaimed: “Argentina is disappointed in this game, it is a shame in the World Cup.
“Honestly, they’ve been a real disgrace, apart from that 20 minutes against England.
“In the easiest group in the history of the World Cup, who worked hard when they were beaten by Cape Verde, they need Egypt to win in the jaws of victory to advance to the quarters when Switzerland shot themselves in the foot with a red card unnecessarily.
“England won the semis, they gave it to Argentina who came here in the finals and were completely disappointed.
“Let’s face it, Argentina have had a series of ridiculous decisions coming into this tournament.

“Decisions that have led to all kinds of conspiracy theories that you hope aren’t true, but you can’t help but wonder, can you?
“The lack of red for Messi in the group stage was shocking.
“There is no punishment for the Falklands banner raised by the players after beating England.
“The referee’s bad decision even gave Argentina a chance at the end of extra time here in the final.
“Argentina are crooks, you can’t like them. A good game of football is the one that wins the World Cup final.”
Argentina’s path to the final was not without controversy, and accusations of favoritism.
Messi escaped a red card when they played against Algeria before they went on to beat Austria and Jordan to top their group.
Controversial VAR decisions later followed Egypt and Switzerland during the playoffs.
Meanwhile, a FIFA investigation followed their post-match celebrations after defeating England in the semi-finals.
Many Argentine players raised a banner referring to the Falkland Islands in front of their fans.
