Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel celebrated the Democratic Party sweeping the House and Senate in the midterm elections on Tuesday, saying that President Donald Trump got his “a–” handed to him in a blue wave.

“Oh, I’m glad you’re happy,” Kimmel told his audience. “I’m feeling pretty good, too, I will say. And I want you to know, in case you tuned away from the election coverage, we are monitoring those who are monitoring the results of the election as they come in.”

“All the Nates were predicting a blue wave, not the kind of blue wave that pulls Nicolas Cage’s beach house into the ocean,” Kimmel said, referring to pollsters named Nate.

“And not just a wave — a blue tsunami,” he said.

“One election model from Harvard said the chances of Republicans keeping the House tonight was as likely as rolling the number 20 on a 20-sided die. They could have just said 5%, but somebody at Harvard really wanted to let us know they play Dungeons and Dragons. And that seems to be what is happening,” Kimmel said.

Kimmel said, “It seems to be after all the talk about Nicki Minaj’s a–, Jon Husted’s a–, the only a– on Trump’s mind tonight is the one that just got handed to him.”

In response to Fox News Digital’s request for comment, the White House called Kimmel a “loser.”

“Jimmy Kimmel is a no-talent loser who has beclowned himself with tanking ratings and by spewing disgusting lies to his dwindling audience. He is so devoid of actual talent that nobody with any commonsense would ever watch him unless it was to laugh at him,” White House spokesman Davis Ingle told Fox News Digital.

Democrats decisively recaptured majorities in the House and Senate in the midterm elections, riding a blue wave that exceeded expectations.

Kimmel was also joined by the hosts of the “Pod Save America” podcast on Tuesday, who celebrated the victory alongside him.

Kimmel asked whether anyone in Trump’s administration would lose their job following the midterm election results. Podcast host Tommy Vietor said he was unsure but expressed optimism about the country’s direction.

“I think that tonight is the beginning of the end of the Trump era in America,” he said.

Kimmel noted earlier in the segment that all four men had worked in former President Barack Obama‘s administration during the 2010 midterm elections, when Democrats suffered major losses that Obama described as a “shellacking.”

Podcast host Dan Pfeiffer described the 2010 election as “one of the worst nights of our lives” but said he would enjoy seeing Trump administration staffers experience a similar feeling.

“That night we went in, we knew it wasn’t going to be great, so we had three scenarios: not that bad, kind of bad, pretty bad,” Pfeiffer said. “We ended up with way worse than all of those. We were walking out of the White House at 3:00 in the morning. Rahm Emanuel, the chief of staff at the time, looked at us and said, ‘Tomorrow is about to be the worst day of your life and everybody is going to call for you to be fired.’ And he was right. It was terrible.”

“And I am going to enjoy every second of every Trump staffer feeling that way tomorrow,” he added.
