Rangers are ‘close’ to selling the out-of-favour striker

Moving on to the Scottish Premiership, Rangers are looking to win the title in 2026-27 after a period of dominance by Celtic, with Hearts also entering the battle in the final conference.

The Gers are aiming to win the domestic title for the first time since Steven Gerrard’s men took the title in 2020-21, and it will be a summer of big changes in the dressing room.

As per Sky Sports NewsRangers are keen to part with striker Danilo, who spent the second half of last campaign on loan at NEC Nijmegen in the Eredivisie, scoring just one goal in 12 games.

The report claims that Brazilian club Botafogo are closing in on a deal to secure the striker’s loan services before the end of the summer window, prying the player away from Ibrox.

It is understood that the temporary deal could have the potential to be permanent, as long as Danilo reaches a certain number of games played by the South American club in the long run.

In a clear sign that his stay in Glasgow is over, the 27-year-old did not travel as part of Derek McInnes’ squad for a pre-season training camp in Spain, where the Gers will build their fitness ahead of the new term.
