Nottingham Forest tipped to sign £40m Premier League midfielder as replacement for Elliot Anderson

Nottingham Forest have been told Liverpool star Curtis Jones’ transfer ‘can’t go wrong’ as they look to replace Elliot Anderson.
Tricky Trees were forced to let go of their midfielder as Man City won the race for his signature.

They did this by breaking the British record, which was set when Declan Rice joined Arsenal for £105m, and earned a cool £116m.
Not bad for a player they signed for just £35m two years ago as they picked up the sack from Newcastle, and didn’t even give them a sell-on clause.
The central midfielder was an instant hit at the City Ground thanks to his accurate passing, good footwork and impressive work rate.
He was called up to the England squad in 2025 and is now one of the first names on Thomas Tuchel’s 2026 World Cup squad.
However, Forest must find someone to fill the gap in the middle of the field.
And former Tricky Tree James Perch thinks one player should be on his radar to help replace him.
Although he also believes that two signings are needed to fully make up for his lost talent.
“Trying to fit Elliot Anderson and what he’s doing is going to be very difficult,” he told the Weekend Sports Breakfast.
“I think it will probably take two players to cover what he is doing because Forest does a lot on that field, but the obvious one I think will be Curtis Jones.
“I think he’s proven. He’s an England player. So you don’t gamble on him and hope he hits the ground running. Hopefully with his experience and all the games he’s played at Liverpool, he’ll just come into the team and almost start where Elliot Anderson left off.

“I don’t think he’s as good as Elliot Anderson, but I think he’s a replacement that you can’t go wrong with.”
Jones is a wanted man and Serie A giants Inter Milan are also interested in his services.
They had an approach rejected with Liverpool insisting they value the player at around £40m.
That’s despite their academy product only having one year left on his current contract.
He went down the pecking order at Anfield with Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister again Dominik Szoboszlai, all before him.
Jones also had The rumored ‘tiff’ with former manager Arne Slot again explosion on television.

Slot left the Anfield club earlier this summer and was replaced by Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola.
Also leaving Liverpool this summer are club legends Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson, while Ibrahima Konate joins Real Madrid on a free transfer.
Absent is defender Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes for £60m, while the Reds have also hijacked a £34.5m move to Newcastle for Spanish star Victor Munoz.
