CSKA Sofia beat Derry 3-2 in the home leg of their Europa League qualifier, but James Olayinka’s late goal strengthened City’s hopes of progressing.
That narrow defeat was a good result for the Candystripes, who conceded just six of 17 shots against Bulgaria.
Derry can’t sit back in the return leg so over 2.5 goals looks a solid bet.
Both teams have scored in five of Derry’s last six League of Ireland games, including a 4-1 win at Bohemians in June and a 4-2 home defeat by Waterford.
City are able to break down the Bulgarian defence, but the visitors are a big threat through striker Ioannis Pittas, who scored twice in the first leg.
The Cypriot player found the net in both World Cup qualifiers against Bosnia, who went on to beat Italy in the final, and could be involved in the match at Brandywell.

Ferencvaros to win & both teams to score vs Vojvodina Novi Sad @ 31/20
Another second leg of the Europa League that promises goals is the match between Ferencvaros and Vojvodina Novi Sad from Serbia.
The Hungarians enjoyed an incredible run in Europe last season, reaching the final stage of the Europa League, and their home record was excellent.
They beat Ludogorets (twice), Rangers and Braga at home and drew 1-1 with Viktoria Plzen and Panathinaikos in their other two home games.
The Hungarian continental champions also added a 3-2 win away to RB Salzburg, so backing Ferencvaros to win and both teams to score could be beneficial on Thursday.
That was the winning bet in the first leg as Ferencvaros won 2-1 against a Vojvodina side that scored 13 shots.
Vojvodina’s pre-season results include a 2-1 loss to Gyori ETO, who beat Ferencvaros to the title in Hungary last season, and they could go on the scoresheet with another draw.

Dynamo Kyiv overcame their goalless first leg against Universitatea Cluj, scoring 27 shots on goal against them, and should enjoy a successful Europa League trip to Romania.

Sheriff failed to score in their 24 attempts on goal against the Slovenians, but they are deserved favorites to win the away leg.
The final selection of our Thursday acca is Hamrun Spartans who will make the most of home advantage against Conference League rivals Runavik.
Hamrun qualified for the league stage of the competition in 2025-26 and last week’s 1-1 draw in the Faroe Islands gave them a good chance of eliminating Runavik.
